Under the theme:
“Holistic Health Across the Life Span: Integrating Care, Ethics, and Community”

The Libya Al-Wa‘ida Hall hosted the activities of the Second Scientific Day of the Medicine Program at the Libyan International University, which commenced at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, under the supervision of the Chair of the Scientific and Preparatory Committee, Professor Dr. Othman Al-Tajouri.

The program began with an opening address delivered by Professor Dr. Jamal Al-Talhi, Director of the Medical Program, at 9:00 a.m., during which he welcomed attendees and emphasized the importance of promoting the principles of holistic healthcare within medical education.

This Scientific Day was distinguished by the fact that all speakers were students of the Medicine Program and internship doctors, who delivered high-quality scientific presentations addressing various aspects of health across the life span, with particular emphasis on the Libyan healthcare context.

A group of students from the Eleventh Cohort—Dania Sharia, Sama Al-Mahdawi, Ahmed Salah, Mohammed Al-Baj‘a, and Manal Al-Balqaid—presented the abstract of their graduation project entitled:
“Parental Attitudes Toward Routine Childhood Vaccinations in Benghazi, Libya, After the COVID-19 Pandemic.”

Student Lujain Al-Farjani (Department of Family and Community Medicine) delivered a presentation entitled:
“Community-Based Prevention of Non-Communicable Diseases.”

Students Doaa Al-Farsi and Islam Naji (Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology) presented a lecture entitled:
“Maternal Health and Safe Motherhood in Libya: Challenges and Priorities.”

Following a short break accompanied by the exhibition of scientific posters for graduation research projects, student Aseel Al-Mushaiti (Department of Pediatrics) delivered a presentation entitled:
“Childhood Obesity and Its Long-Term Impact on Health.”

Students Ajnadeen Mar‘i and Fatima Al-Zahraa Al-Sanousi (Department of Psychiatry) discussed the topic:
“Mental Health Across the Life Span in Libya.”

The scientific sessions concluded with a presentation by student Abdulmu‘izz Al-Lafi (Department of Forensic Medicine) entitled:
“Medical Ethics and Legal Responsibilities in Clinical Practice.”

The day concluded with the distribution of certificates to participants and speakers, followed by a closing remark commending the efforts of the Scientific Committee chaired by Professor Dr. Othman Al-Tajouri, and praising the outstanding level demonstrated by Medical Program students and internship doctors of the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, whose contributions enriched scientific dialogue and effectively bridged academic knowledge with the realities of the Libyan healthcare system.
